Noelle Brookins
Managing attorney
Noelle runs the clinic day to day and takes the cases that need to go before a judge.
Noelle grew up in Detroit’s Jefferson Chalmers neighborhood, the daughter of a city bus driver and a hospital cook. She came to the clinic after several years representing workers at a small firm, and she’s happiest with a box of pay stubs and a spreadsheet.
She handles unpaid wage and firing cases, and she trains the law students who help prepare them.

How Noelle works
Noelle’s first question for every worker is the same: what would make this right for you? Some people want back pay. Some want a fair reference, or just for the treatment to stop. She builds each case around the answer.
Outside the clinic she coaches a youth track team on the east side and serves on the board of a neighborhood food pantry.
